Amazing Shopping: DVF Work Bag

Last Thursday started out like any other day, that is until my car started making sounds similar to the hydraulics on an amusement park ride, on my way home from work. By the time I got home I was frazzled and stressed and in desperate need of a break. What I didn't need was for the straps on my work bag to break just as I was getting out of the car. Here I am, 100 degree heat, white smoke pouring out of the hood of my car watching as the contents of my bag are spilling all over the driveway. I was a mess. Luckily the car was easily repaired this weekend, which meant the only thing left to take care of was the bag situation. I knew that my first stop needed to be my favorite off-price retail stores, Marshall's and TJ Maxx. The two companies are owned by the same parent company ( TJX ) but each location can sometimes come with different stock so I am always sure to check out different stores even if they are located just blocks from each other. Yesterday, while my car was getting an oil change ( see, a simple fix!) I headed across the street to start my search at Marshall's, and never had to look any further. I found the perfect bag! Say hello to my new, super amazing Diane Von Furstenburg Studio bag!

At first I wasn't seeing anything that could work for me in the purse section. My work bag holds my laptop, and a few various notebooks and things so I needed something larger and sturdy enough to house everything at once. I decided to peek over in the luggage section and there I found my newest love, the DVF Daisy Tote Bag. If the bag wasn't amazing in itself, I turned over the price tag and expected the worse. Low and behold the amazement that is Marshall's...

This bag, the most perfect work bag in the history of work bag's was an astonishing $24.99! Not to mention it was still wearing it's original $200 price tag!

I also decided after saving so much money, to splurge a bit and get this $3 scarf to add to one of the handles. I love the black and orange color of the bag, but thought this great 'ladies' walking' scarf would add an extra touch of femininity and give the bag an extra hint of color.

With a new bag and a working car I am feeling fresh and ready to go. Not to mention my wallet is very excited about my recent purchase. I'm not sure there is anything better then being a smart shopper! You really can look like a million bucks without spending a million bucks. Or in this case, you can look like $200 by spending only $27.99.

(** Please don't mind my new friend Charlotte who seems to have snuck into the last picture there. I guess she was also very excited about my new purchase. Don't worry though, she was climbing up the wall not the bag.No spiders were harmed in the making of this post.)
