Two years ago, Johnny and I attended 5 weddings between May and october. Knowing that, it seems only fitting that this spring I find my calendar booked with baby showers. We are so excited for all of our friends and families and their soon to be little bundles of joys. It seems as though it's the boy baby phase of life as my Best Friend is expecting her son in a short 3 weeks, my cousin and his wife will welcome their son a month after, and a month after that our neighbors will greet their little boy twins.
It wouldn't take an expert to guess that I am quite good at shopping for baby gifts. Is there anything more fun than sorting through all of the tiny little clothes and colorful books? When it comes to getting dressed for a shower however, I always feel a bit of pressure. There is no way of knowing if the gathering will be casual or fancy until you arrive, when the invitation give no clues by simply includes a picture of a cartoon animal. My second concern when it comes to getting dressed for showers always has to do with a choice in footwear ( when isn't that my concern?). I love an occasion like a baby shower to get out some of my fancier heels, but if a shower takes place in a house and the shoes are left next to the front door, then no-one will get to see my specially picked fancy heels and if the shower takes place outdoors, heels can be a bit traitorous with soft soil. With so many concerns I like to stick to fancy flats. Going in to most showers with so many un-knowns, I've got my shower outfits to a bit of a uniform, flat shoes, skirt and a casual but nice top. My baby shower uniform served me well this past weekend, and was topped off perfectly with my new White lace Flats. In the case of this baby shower, my shoes served me perfectly through-out the afternoon, and I'm starting to think that these will be the perfect shoes for a baby shower we'll be attending this weekend as well. Oh and did I mention this outfit happens to be perfect for Pretty Shiny Sparkly's Bloggers Do It Better challenge this week? Funny how that happened...

GAHHH. You have to be a model. You are so very pretty. If you are not, you should be in a J.crew ad. I can't believe you spent so little and look so pretty. Also, your outfit descriptions and cost are hilarious. I love the family jewel part..hahaha
Would love it, if you would stop by and see how a 45+ year old handles “White Out”—you might get a good chuckle anyway! See you there! http://stillblondeafteralltheseyears.com/2011/05/white-out-change-it-up-outfits-modeled-by-women-over-45/
