Today is the birthday of a very special lady..
Barbie!!
Today marks the 52nd year since this lovely lady first appeared in the market. According to my Fashion Fact of the Day Calendar ( Thanks Cindy!) ' The First Doll wears a black and white zebra-striped swimsuit and is available as either a blonde of brunette. Martel markets her as a 'Teenage Fashion Model' and sells about 350,000 dolls in the first year of production.'
I didn't get an invite to the birthday party ( I'm sure it's just lost in the mail) but if I had, I would have tried to play up on the details of the original Barbie outfit. Happy Birthday Barbie!
