Weekly Money Check Up

It's time for another check into my weekly spending, thanks to My Pretty Pennies and her amazing money blog. In the last few weeks, I've started to change my thinking on spending and this weekly check in is not only helping me to be accountable, but it's also great at helping me make sure that things are on track. I would encourage everyone to head on over to My Pretty Pennies, and to participate in her Weekly Check In too!! On to this weeks numbers...

1. The most I’ve spent this last week was on _____.
$75 for a facial. I did spend $175 on student loans, but in terms of my non-bill spending, the facial cost me the most. A great friend is getting married next weekend and we thought facials would be a great way to de-stress before the big day. Not only does my skin still feel amazing, but I learned a ton. My girlfriends and I had a great time. In this case, the Money was very well spent.

2. Today I feel _______towards money.
Smart. Every few months I re-evaluate my spending and budgetting, but this time I seem to have found a plan that really works for me. Instead of feeling overwhelmed when I think of money like I often do, I'm starting to feel educated about my money and my spending.

3. Money can’t buy happiness. One free/inexpensive thing I did last week that made me happy was_____________.
I had my girlfriend's over for a good old fashioned Sleepover last weekend and we had a blast. We spent all night laughing and chatting. We may have spent some money on food and wine, but my favorite parts of the night had nothing to do with either of those! Just enjoying people's company is always free.

4. I will consider this week a success if I _____________.
Am able to put checks next to each of my planned budget this week. Each week I evaluate and write down what bills I will pay the following 2 weeks. Each week normally brings some un-seen expenses but I think I've been realistic. Last week I was able to pay everything that I hoped to, and I want to do the same this week. ( Even if that includes paying my $115 parking ticket!)

5. The thing I am most looking forward to about this autumn is ________________.
Football! The season is already under way and I have thrown myself completely into re-adjusting our schedules. There is nothing better than sitting on the couch with Johnny in our NFL tees and cheering on our favorite teams. It's a great relaxing activity, and it's free!!

How is your spending looking this week?

This is a great idea and I will definitely try it out! While I won't be spending money on clothes for a while (hopefully), I am afraid I'm spending money elsewhere and not even realizing it.

I look forward to seeing your weekly answers! You're right, most bloggers don't discuss money, and I appreciate your openness on the topic!
