Knit Saturday

Knit Saturday
Some weeks seem to be longer and harder than others. This was just one of those weeks. Unfortunately Johnny and I had some family events this week that were sad, somber and required all black outfits. This week followed an extra hard weekend last week, and come Friday while we were sad to see out-of-town family headed back home we were both looking forward to a quiet weekend at home. We took advantage of Netflix and warm blankets and cuddled all night in our quiet little house. Relaxation didn't last long however as our movie ended with the kind of phone call every military family dreads. The 'pack your bags for war' kind of phone call. Nothing is official until the Military puts it on paper, but my heart started to race and thoughts of my sister and my niece started running through my head. Nothing shows the strength of a family quite like a moment of necessary decision making.

After a night of coma-like sleep out of pure emotional exhaustion, and with plans to cheer my brother on at his basketball game, today required comfortable clothes. The kind of clothes that feel like pajamas, but are perfectly respectable for a high school gymnasium. Enter this amazing Blue Cardigan. When I caught word last week that a local store was going out of business, I knew that stopping by to check out the remaining merchandise would be a great reprieve from my week of emotional excitement. Most everything had been picked over, but when I spotted this knitted vintage looking beauty I knew I had hit the store closing jackpot. Apparently even the more 'urban' merchandise stores can appreciate a great knit cardigan.

Though no-one can appreciate a great knit cardigan quite like this gal. With a great day of family time behind me and a long night of Glee and Blog reading ahead, I can look forward to the warmth of fuzzy socks and fleece blankets, and watching the calendar changing to Sunday. Bring it on new week.

i'm sorry to hear about your week. so draining. hope things improve for everyone!
your sweater looks like one i'd like to own. love it. and i have that exact same eiffel tower pendant, from paris itself. because i'm pretty sure they only manufactured two of them, and you and i are the only people on the planet who own them or something? right. well, either way...lucky us. :)
