Beating the Summer Heat

As a heat wave sweeps across the nation, Johnny and I have made clear plans for the weekend, we are heading up to my family's Lake House. My family camp has been in my family for over 4 generations now. Nestled in the Adirondacks, it has always been my favorite part of summer. As a little girl I would get dropped off there as soon as school ended, and wouldn't come home until it was time to make all of our back to school purchases. Swimming for hours and getting lost in board games with family is still my favorite way to spend the hot summer days.

I'm so lucky to have a close family, and we are all so lucky to have our amazing little slice of heaven right in the Adirondack mountains. Our camp is just 45 minutes from our house, so I think this technically counts as a stay-cation. With big plans to fish, read and roast some marshmallows over the fire I don't think we'll have much time to check our emails or talk about work, and I couldn't be any more excited. Who can complain about the heat when you've got a view like this?
