In honor of a friends birthday her boyfriend hosted a
surprise party. The details listed the dress code as casual. I was so excited to wear this shirt I just built the outfit around it. I was in a tights mood so I added a skirt, and some heeled boots. As I was leaving the house I caught of glimpse of myself in the mirror and through, is this too dressed up? My gut reaction? 'It's cotton, so it's casual' . I'm not sure the makers of cotton clothes would be happy to know that I associate their fabric with casual, especially after all of the marketing they have done with
Zoey Deschannel and Miranda Lambert to prove that cotton clothes makes everything better. I don't care if this outfit was too dressy, or if it was too much cotton, I just loved this look. The shirt is a loose fitting tank top and I loved the
versatility of it. For this look I used a shirt belt around my waist and pulled
un-tucked the shirt over it a bit to add some dimension without loosing the
flowy-ness.
Johnny announced, ' You really love color don't you, when I took off my coat at the part'. Yes hunni, Yes I do.

Cute!! I adore bright colors in winter, and I love how you toned them down with neutrals.
I hope the party was fun!
