Giveaway! and an amazing new Band

One of the first things that Johnny and I connected over when we met for our first date in a coffee shop over 4 years ago, was our mutual love of music. As teenagers we both poured our hearts into various varieties of tunes. He spent hours mixing and remixing the ones and twos for adoring fans while I spent my time perfecting my fluting abilities and conducting the band in my freshly pressed marching band uniform. This is not however a conversation over whose musical preference was cooler, because now as adults I would like to think we've ( okay mostly I've) both jumped aboard the cool train. There are moments in life that require a great break-down, the occasional dance party, and my personal favorite, a group sing-along and we make it a point to be present for each and every one.

It's this love of music that caused my ears to perk up a bit when I first heard about Maurice's search for a small-town female fronted band at the beginning of the year. I was shopping in my local store and couldn't help but notice some of the signs. Maurice's was sponsoring a Bangles concert during SXSW and was holding a contest to find a small-town band to open for them! The amazing Audri and Aaron were the big winners and I couldn't be more excited for this small band from Alton, IL. How cute are these two?

Not only did did Audri and Aaron win the big prize of being able to open during SXSW for the infamous female group the Bangles ( how can it get any better?) but Audri was also outfitted by Maurice's for the event! Now you know why she looks so darling!

I am a bit dissapointed that I wasn't able to attend that actual event myself, but fear not, this is 2011 which mean technology is on our side! Luckily the video clips have hit the web and you can see their performance here! Oh her voice is simply amazing. And while you're at it, check out their at home video here. This casual performance will have you lost for hours! It's really no wonder they won, these two are fantastic.
